The Local Area and Beaches

Within 3.5km of the house, is the small village of Plumergat, where there is a boulangerie, small chemist and local tennis court. Slightly further away (some 5km), is the famous small town of St Anne d’Auray (renowned for its cathedral), where there are a selection of boulangeries, cafes and small shops. The nearest main town, is the market town of Auray, some 10kms away, situated on the hill above the Port de St Goustan, which gives direct access by boat to the famous Golf du Morbihan.

Every Monday morning a thriving local French market comes to town – grab your shopping basket and enjoy! Being close to the sea, means that the focus is a fantastic fresh fish market.

Beaches

The property is situated within easy access of the famous Golf du Morbihan, one of Europe’s largest sea inlets and home to a number of beautiful islands that are easily explored by boat. The famous coastline provides plenty of family beaches, within 15-20kms of the house, as well as the Cote Sauvage along the Quiberon peninsula, which provides great windsurfing and kitesurfing venues.

In addition to fabulous days out at the beaches, there are a number of other sporting activities within an easy car journey, for day trips, including canoeing, children’s inflatable park, golf etc.
